Destin opens budget talks as city leaders look toward Fiscal Year 2027, public meeting set for Monday, June 8

Destin, Florida – Destin’s next budget conversation will begin before numbers are finalized and before the city moves deeper into its planning season.

The City of Destin Mayor, City Council, and staff will hold a public workshop on Monday, June 8, starting at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will take place inside the City Hall Annex Council Chambers at 4100 Indian Bayou Trail in Destin, Florida.

The workshop is centered on planning for the Fiscal Year 2027 budget. While the notice is brief, the purpose is clear: city leaders and staff will gather to discuss the financial direction of the city before the budget process moves forward. These workshops often serve as an early space for reviewing priorities, needs and possible decisions that may shape the next fiscal year.

The public is invited to attend. For residents, the meeting offers a chance to be present as city officials begin discussing how future public dollars may be planned and organized. Budget planning can touch many parts of local government, from services and operations to long-term city needs, making early public access an important part of the process.

The June 8 workshop will bring Destin’s elected leaders and staff together in one room, with the public welcome to listen as the city begins looking ahead to Fiscal Year 2027.
