Fort Walton Beach Library plans Arbor Day celebration filled with nature learning and family activities

Fort Walton Beach, Florida – The Fort Walton Beach Library will turn its attention to trees, plants, and the natural world on Saturday, April 25, 2026, during a special Arbor Day-themed event planned for residents of all ages.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the library, located at 185 Miracle Strip Parkway SE. It is designed to give the community a simple but meaningful way to learn more about the role trees play in the local ecosystem, while also offering hands-on activities for children and families.

Several groups and organizations are expected to take part, giving visitors a chance to ask questions about trees, plants, conservation, and the environment. Representatives from the Florida Forest Service, the Garniers Beach Garden Club, the Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance, and the Okaloosa County Natural Resources Department will be on hand during the event.

The day will include Arbor Day and nature-related presentations from participating vendors. For younger visitors, the library will offer an Arbor Day-themed LEGO building activity, adding a creative twist to the celebration. Children will also be able to stop by a planting station, where they can plant their own wildflowers and take them home.

The event will also feature plant and vegetable sprout giveaways from local plant nurseries, giving attendees a chance to leave with something green to grow at home.

Arbor Day is centered on the value of trees and the need to care for the natural spaces that support communities. In Fort Walton Beach, the library’s event will bring that message into a local setting, combining education, family activities, and community involvement in one Saturday gathering.
