Pineview School opens as Okaloosa County’s first new campus in 18 years, ribbon-cutting ceremony set for August 14
Crestview, Florida – For the first time in 18 years, the Okaloosa County School District is opening the doors to an entirely new school.
Pineview School, a modern K-8 campus built in one of the county’s fastest-growing areas, will officially be welcomed with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday, August 14.
The new school is located at 5200 Enzor Road in Crestview, near the Southwest Crestview Bypass. Community members, families, elected officials and media representatives are invited to attend the celebration marking the completion of the major district investment.

Designed to serve children from kindergarten through eighth grade, Pineview will add classroom capacity in the expanding Crestview community. District leaders said the campus was planned not only to respond to current enrollment needs, but also to prepare for continued population growth in the years ahead.
Pineview is the first new school opened by the Okaloosa County School District since 2008, making the ceremony a particularly significant moment for the district.
“The opening of Pineview School is a historic milestone for the Okaloosa County School District and the communities we serve,” Superintendent Marcus Chambers said.

Chambers said the campus reflects years of planning, responsible investment and cooperation with the community. He described Pineview as an example of the district’s effort to address future capacity needs before overcrowding becomes a larger challenge.
“As the District’s first new school since 2008, Pineview demonstrates our commitment to being proactive in addressing future capacity needs while providing students and families with a modern, innovative learning environment where they can thrive,” Chambers said.
For Principal Dr. Donna Kelley, the opening is also a chance for the school’s first students, employees and families to create traditions from the ground up.
“We have the rare and thrilling privilege of being the very first to walk in these halls,” Kelley said. “Pineview School is a blank canvas, and together — students, staff, and families — we will fill it with discovery, school spirit, and a legacy of greatness that will last for generations.”

She closed her message with a motto suited to the new school community: “Be like a bear: strong enough to stand alone, yet wise enough to work together.”
