Fort Walton Beach Golf Club unveils high-tech Trackman Driving Range with virtual courses and expanded amenities

Fort Walton Beach, Florida – With a few well-aimed swings from Mayor Nic Allegretto, the Fort Walton Beach Golf Club officially launched its new Trackman Driving Range on Friday, September 26, 2025, marking a major leap into tech-enhanced golfing for the city. This upgraded range now includes state-of-the-art Trackman technology in all 25 bays, offering players of all skill levels a completely immersive and data-driven experience.
Trackman, a radar-based shot tracking system, has become a game-changer in the golf world, offering both recreational and serious golfers a closer look at the science behind their swing. “It tracks carry distance, total distance, ball speed, peak height, launch angle, launch direction, and distance from target,” said Jacob Hill, the Golf Course Director. “It will track all of your club data, and it gives you a shot tracer of exactly where you hit it.”
A Virtual Playground With Real-World Impact
In addition to its analytic capabilities, the Trackman system offers access to virtual versions of some of the most iconic golf courses in the world. Golfers can now simulate playing at places like Pebble Beach or Royal Troon Golf Club without ever leaving Fort Walton Beach. According to Hill, the system can rotate through about 10-12 courses at a time from a library of approximately 400 options. “We’ll have a rotating library of golf courses you can play,” he said.
One of the current virtual offerings is Bethpage Black, the celebrated venue for the 2025 Ryder Cup happening this weekend. To mark the occasion, the club is hosting a special tournament this Sunday where players can enjoy unlimited rounds on Bethpage Black from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Meanwhile, the Clubhouse Grill will hold a Ryder Cup watch party that afternoon, blending real-time professional golf excitement with virtual participation.
A Welcoming Space for Families and Friends
The Trackman range is designed to be as user-friendly as it is high-tech. Players can log in as guests or use the Trackman mobile app to create a personalized profile. This allows players to track every shot they take, compare results over time, and even compete with other Trackman users around the world.
The bays accommodate up to eight people, making it perfect for solo practice, friendly matches, or group outings. Hill emphasized the system’s family-friendly features, noting that it also includes video game-inspired courses aimed at entertaining younger golfers. “It’s got something for everybody,” said Hill. “I know the kids will love it.”
Affordable and Accessible With Extended Hours
Despite the high-tech upgrade, the driving range remains highly affordable. There is no extra fee to use the Trackman system—players only pay for the range balls they use: $5 for 25 balls, $10 for 55, and $15 for 95.
The range operates Tuesday through Sunday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Mondays from noon to 10 p.m. For evening visitors, Hill shared a special offer: from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, the Clubhouse Grill will provide food and drinks at the range, and guests can receive a large bucket of balls (95) for the price of a medium (55) at just $10.
A Staple in the Local Golf Scene Gets a Modern Upgrade
The Fort Walton Beach Golf Club, located at 1955 Lewis Turner Blvd., is home to two public 18-hole courses and offers memberships for regular players. With the addition of the Trackman system, the Club is poised to become a hub not just for traditional golfers, but for tech-savvy players and families seeking fun, interactive ways to enjoy the sport.
