Crestview shooting investigation leads to weapons charge against convicted felon

Crestview, Florida – An investigation into a shooting at a Crestview residence has resulted in weapons charges against a local man with a prior felony conviction. Authorities say the case stems from a disturbance reported at an apartment on West James Lee Boulevard earlier this month.
According to investigators, deputies responded to the home on January 15 after learning that a firearm had discharged during an altercation. The incident involved two women inside the apartment, where one woman was holding a gun and struck the other during a confrontation.
During the struggle, the firearm went off, and the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Officials said the injury was not life-threatening.
As deputies worked to determine how the shooting occurred, their investigation expanded to include the occupants of the residence. Law enforcement identified 54-year-old Reginald Bradshaw, who lives at the address, as a convicted felon. Under state law, individuals with felony convictions are prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.
Investigators said Bradshaw admitted that two additional firearms inside the home belonged to him. Based on that information, deputies obtained a search warrant for the residence. During the search, authorities reported finding a total of seven firearms along with various types of ammunition.

Following the discovery, Bradshaw was charged with possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon. Officials emphasized that the charge is related to the unlawful possession of firearms and not the initial altercation between the two women.
The investigation into the incident remains focused on the events surrounding the discharge of the weapon and the illegal possession of firearms. Authorities have not indicated whether additional charges may be filed in connection with the disturbance itself.
