Okaloosa County, Florida – In an inspiring display of historical inquiry and analysis, Okaloosa STEMM Academy recently hosted its National History Day (NHD) Showcase, captivating an audience with student-led projects deeply rooted in this year’s theme, “Rights & Responsibilities in History.”
On February 27, the school turned into a vibrant venue for historical conversation where students showcased their months-long study projects, each delving into significant events in history through various creative formats.
The focus for this year pushed students to investigate important historical events and figures through the prism of cause and effect, time and place, and long-term consequences on society. The projects ranged in media from films to live events, incorporating historical documents, interactive websites, and painstakingly crafted exhibits.
Students at the STEMM Academy committed themselves over several weeks to their research, working cooperatively to improve their analytical abilities and enhance their historical knowledge.
