City invites community to meet utility reps and get answers about neighborhood infrastructure work

Destin, Florida – Residents of Destin will soon be able to find out more about the underground drilling activity going on in their neighborhoods. The City of Destin has announced that there will be a drop-in forum on Wednesday, July 16, from 4 to 6 p.m. at City Hall, which is at 4200 Indian Bayou Trail. The event is meant to allow community members a way of speaking directly to the companies working on the infrastructure projects.

During the forum, representatives from a range of organizations — including Destin Water Users, ADS, Cox, Live Oak Fiber, Gigapower, Okaloosa Gas, Mears Broadband, and Utility Consultants of Florida — will be on hand to meet with residents. Their purpose is to give straightforward answers to questions and hear about any issues or concerns that homeowners have had because of the drilling that is going on underground.

Anyone who wants to go to the event should email [email protected] in advance, according to the City of Destin. Residents should write their name, address, and a description of any difficulties they’ve had or questions they want answered in the email. This will help the City of Destin and utility companies give useful information and solutions at the forum.

City officials highlighted that this event is a great chance for people to talk directly to the people in charge of the drilling work. By attending, community members can learn more about what’s going on under their streets and how it might affect their daily lives.
