Destin City Council to review Harborwalk Village Phase II plans during April 13 hearing

Destin, Florida – A key decision point is approaching for a prominent waterfront project in Destin, as city leaders prepare to review plans tied to the next phase of Harborwalk Village.
The matter is scheduled to come before the Destin City Council during a public quasi-judicial hearing set for Monday, April 13, 2026, at 6 p.m.
The hearing will focus on a Development Order Compliance Review connected to Harborwalk Village Phase II, an application identified as DEV-001575-2025. Rather than a full amendment to a previously approved development order, the review will examine whether the proposed plans align with existing approvals and requirements.
City officials will evaluate a proposal that expands upon the well-known Harbor Boulevard destination. Plans for the second phase outline a mix of uses designed to build on the area’s existing footprint.
Among the elements under consideration are additional hotel-style units, along with short-term multi-family accommodations. The proposal also includes space for restaurants, a bar, and retail establishments, all of which are intended to complement the site’s current offerings.
Beyond lodging and commercial components, the development concept introduces supporting infrastructure meant to accommodate increased activity. A structured parking facility is part of the plan, along with a pool and water-focused amenity area, signaling an effort to enhance both convenience and visitor experience within the complex.
The quasi-judicial nature of the hearing means council members will review the proposal within a formal framework, weighing submitted evidence and applicable regulations before reaching a decision. This process is designed to ensure that development proposals are considered fairly and in accordance with established guidelines.

Residents, stakeholders, and interested parties will have the opportunity to attend the hearing in person. The meeting will take place inside the City Council Chambers at the City Hall Annex, located at 4100 Indian Bayou Trail.
As the date approaches, the upcoming review marks an important step in determining how Harborwalk Village may evolve, with city leaders set to decide whether the next phase moves forward under the proposed plan.
