Fort Walton Beach announces closures for Labor Day with essential services uninterrupted

Fort Walton Beach, Florida – On Monday, September 1, 2025, several city offices and facilities in Fort Walton Beach will be closed for the Labor Day. The schedule affects a lot of services. Most administrative duties will be put on hold for the day, but vital activities will continue as usual.
On Monday, City Hall will be closed. This includes the customer service, human resources, and growth management divisions. People who require help with city papers or permits will need to plan around the holiday schedule.
The Fort Walton Beach Library will be closed for two days, on Saturday, August 30, and Monday, September 1. The holiday will also close the Heritage Park and Cultural Center. The Fort Walton Beach Recreation Center will be closed on Saturday and Monday, just like the library, for anyone who want to utilize it for fun.

The Fort Walton Beach Golf Club will still be open as usual, with normal hours for all who want to spend the day outside, even if many other places will be closed. On Labor Day, trash collection services will still be available for individuals as well as companies. Residents should know that yard waste pickup will not happen on Monday, though.
There will be no breaks in public safety operations. The police and fire agencies’ administrative offices will be closed for the day, but their emergency response and call services will continue to work. Residents are reminded to call 911 in case of an emergency.
