Destin’s annual Christmas Parade celebrates its 40th anniversary with a nostalgic “Flashback to 1984” theme

Destin, Florida – With its annual Christmas Parade, set for Saturday, December 14, at 10 a.m., Destin is poised to brighten the holidays. This year’s event promises a nostalgic twist with the city celebrating its 40th birthday under the theme “Flashback to 1984“. Attendees can look forward to a vibrant display of floats, music, and festive spirit, all paying tribute to the beloved decade.

Starting at Destin Methodist Church, at 200 Beach Drive, the parade will make its way down Beach Drive before heading west along Harbor Boulevard (Hwy 98). Stahlman Avenue will mark the end of the parade. For the greatest views of the colorful floats and lively participants, spectators are encouraged to line up on the north side of Harbor Boulevard.

For individuals ready to join the celebrations by riding a float, the City of Destin has streamlined the application procedure. Participants are encouraged to make contributions to the community instead of paying an entrance fee. Accepted gifts range from new toys to personal items like cologne or perfume to cash contributions. Applications are also available at the Destin Community Center, where these gifts may be dropped-off.
