Fort Walton Beach launches fun, non-competitive cheer season for local youth

Fort Walton Beach, Florida – Young athletes who want to cheer on the sidelines this fall can officially join up for the 2025 Football Cheerleading season in Fort Walton Beach. Registration is now open and will stay open until September 2. This gives families a few weeks to sign up their kids for the city’s recreational cheer program.

Kids in kindergarten through 5th grade can cheerlead this year. The young cheerleaders will cheer at 10U flag football games all season long, getting the crowd pumped up and cheering on the teams. In September, practices will start, and games will follow soon after in October.

The program is meant to give youngsters a pleasant and welcoming place to learn cheers, chants, and simple exercises. It focuses on working together, being excited, and having a sense of community instead of competing, which makes it a fantastic place for new people to start.

Fort Walton Beach residents have to pay $30 to sign up, while anyone who live beyond the city limits have to pay $50. Along with the standard price, there is an additional $95 uniform package that comes with a cheer suit, one set of pompoms, and a cheer bow. Uniforms must be paid for in advance before orders can be placed. Parents will be notified by email when it’s time to bring their children in to try on sample sizes.
