Volunteers to join forces on October 11 in Fort Walton Beach citywide graffiti removal effort

Fort Walton Beach, Florida – This fall, the City of Fort Walton Beach is putting together a community initiative to clean up graffiti. On Saturday, October 11, there will be a special workday where city volunteers will help property owners fix up their walls and shops.

The goal of the city’s Cleanest City on the Emerald Coast initiative is to keep communities looking nice and welcome. This event is part of that strategy. If your property has been tagged with graffiti, you should take part if you live or operate a business in the city. The method is easy: the city provides the workers, and the participants bring the paint and other supplies.

The plan is meant to help property owners who may not have the time or people to wipe up graffiti on their own. Officials want to convey a clear message that graffiti will not be left alone by using public resources and getting the community to work together.

People who want to join the program must sign up for their properties before the deadline. The Public Information Office is in charge of sign-ups. Residents can call Devon Ravine at 850-586-7855 or email her at [email protected]. This stage makes sure that the crews know where to go and how much work they need to do.

The authorities of the city claim that the work represents more than just a cosmetic change. They think that keeping public and private areas clean will make people proud of their community and stop further vandalism. The project is also part of an ongoing effort to make Fort Walton Beach a cleaner and more welcoming place for both residents and visitors.

Officials are urging property owners who have been harmed by graffiti to get in touch promptly because the cleanup is coming up on October 11. The city is getting ready for a lot of people to respond and is training staff to work quickly at many sites in one day.
