Fort Walton Beach announces temporary changes to utility payments as city continues storm recovery efforts

Fort Walton Beach, Florida – Paying a water bill is usually a simple monthly task, but residents in Fort Walton Beach may need to visit a different location if they plan to make their payments in person. The city has temporarily moved its Customer Service Office while repairs and recovery efforts continue following Hurricane Isaias.
The change comes as City Hall remains closed because of storm-related damage. However, local officials want residents to know that utility services are continuing, payment options remain available, and customers will not face late fees or water service disconnections during the recovery period.
According to an announcement from the City of Fort Walton Beach, the Customer Service Office is now operating from the Fort Walton Beach Recreation Center at 132 Jet Drive NW. Residents who normally visit City Hall to handle water billing matters can receive assistance at the temporary location.
The city has also maintained several payment methods for customers who prefer not to visit the office.
Those wishing to pay in person can go directly to the Recreation Center. Payments sent by mail should continue to be addressed to 107 Miracle Parkway SW, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548.
Another option is the payment drop box located in front of City Hall. While the building itself remains closed, residents can still use the box to submit payments. However, city officials specifically advise customers not to leave cash inside.
Residents can also pay their bills over the phone by calling 850-357-8753. The telephone payment system accepts debit cards, credit cards and electronic checks. Online payments remain available through the city’s utility payment portal.
One important part of the announcement concerns customers who may experience difficulties making payments during the hurricane recovery period. The city confirmed that late fees will not be charged and water service will not be terminated during this time.
Meanwhile, the regular billing process has not changed. Monthly water statements are printed and mailed by an outside billing company, meaning residents should continue receiving their bills through the mail as usual.
Customers who have not received a statement or need help understanding their charges can contact the Customer Service Office at 850-833-9591 or email [email protected].
The city thanked residents for their patience as Fort Walton Beach continues recovering from the hurricane and works to maintain essential services despite the temporary closure of City Hall.
