Construction Junction returns to Fort Walton Beach this weekend with big trucks and family activities

Fort Walton Beach, Florida – Construction Junction is coming back to the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Rigdon Center on Saturday, May 23, 2026, bringing families a chance to get close to the big machines that help keep a community moving.
The event, presented by the Fort Walton Beach Police Department, will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1958 Lewis Turner Blvd., behind the Okaloosa County Courthouse Annex Extension building.
The site, formerly known as the Fort Walton Beach Fairgrounds, will once again become a lively gathering place for children, parents, friends and future builders.

Designed as a hands-on community event, Construction Junction will feature large trucks, special vehicles and a variety of children’s activities. For young visitors, it offers a rare chance to see impressive equipment up close instead of only watching it pass by on the road or work from a distance.
Organizers are also setting aside the first hour as sensory friendly. During that time, there will be no loud horns or other loud noises, giving children and families who prefer a quieter setting a more comfortable way to enjoy the event.
From big vehicles to kid-focused activities, the day is built around simple fun, curiosity and community connection. Families looking for a Saturday outing will have a chance to explore, learn and spend time together in a setting created especially for children.
