Mullet Run 5K celebrates Florida flair with prizes for best mullet, best costume, and fastest feet

Destin, Florida – The streets of Destin are about to get a little wilder, and a whole lot more mullet-friendly. On Sunday, September 28, 2025, the city will host the third annual Mullet Run & Walk 5K, a one-of-a-kind event that blends fitness, fun, and Florida flair like no other.

Set to kick off at 4:00 p.m. at The Deck at Destin Brewery (110 Melvin St.), this lively 5K invites runners, walkers, and costume enthusiasts of all kinds to lace up their sneakers and let their inner party animal shine, preferably with a classic mullet haircut or something just as outrageous. The run will begin and end at The Deck, where the party is guaranteed to keep going long after the finish line.

Hosted once again by Destin Brewery, participants will be treated to post-run refreshments, including beer and snacks for all registered runners. While food and drinks will also be available for purchase, the real draw may be the vibrant post-race celebration happening right on-site.

In true Mullet Run fashion, the event doesn’t just reward speed, it celebrates style. Prizes will be awarded for the Best Costume and the Best Mullet, so creativity is highly encouraged. From denim cutoffs to neon headbands and gravity-defying hairstyles, there’s no limit to how far runners can go to stand out.

And for those who know, they know, the legendary Mullet Toss is also making a triumphant return this year. Back by popular demand, this quirky and crowd-favorite tradition adds an extra layer of excitement to the day’s festivities.

Organizers remind attendees that this is a rain or shine event. While the party will go on under normal weather conditions, there will be no refunds in the case of cancellation due to severe weather like lightning or hurricanes.
