Fort Walton Beach Police earn top-three state honor for excellence in traffic safety enforcement

Fort Walton Beach, Florida – The Fort Walton Beach Police Department is earning high praise after being recognized for its outstanding traffic safety efforts in the 25th annual Florida Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Challenge. The department was ranked third in the state for agencies with 51 to 100 officers. This is a significant achievement that shows how dedicated the team is to keeping people safe on the road.
The statewide challenge is held every year to honor the hard work of law enforcement agencies that go above and beyond to encourage safe driving. The competition pushes departments to embrace a broad and long-term approach to road safety by using effective policies, proactive education initiatives, and strict traffic enforcement.
A total of 305 law enforcement agencies from across Florida took part in the program this year, so Fort Walton Beach’s recognition is extremely impressive. Their third-place accomplishment puts them in a small group of 36 departments who were awarded for doing an excellent job. The award shows that the department is committed to enforcing traffic regulations and also to outreach, driver education, and working with the community.
The Fort Walton Beach Police Department’s placement shows that it continues to be working to lower the number of accidents, keep people safe, and keep residents and visitors safe.
