Monthly coffee event aims to strengthen connection between Fort Walton Beach residents and city leaders

Fort Walton Beach, Florida – Starting this July, Fort Walton Beach residents will have a new way to get in touch with local leaders. The city is starting a regular public meet-and-greet event dubbed “Coffee with the City Manager.” This is a relaxed, come-and-go chance to meet Jason Davis, the city’s new top administrator.
The first event will be on Thursday, July 3, from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. in the conference room at the Fort Walton Beach Public Library. People who live in the area are welcome to stop by, have a cup of coffee, and ask questions, give input, or just say hello to the new City Manager.
You don’t have to sign up, and there isn’t an official agenda. City officials and the people they represent can just talk to each other in a nice way. The purpose of the event is to make a friendly place for people to talk outside of normal government sessions. Residents will be able to talk directly to the person in charge of running the city on a daily basis.

Jason Davis, who recently took over the job, says he wants to hear from locals and learn more about the concerns and goals that are most important to them. All subjects are welcome at the table, whether they are about infrastructure, parks, transportation, or local activities.
If you can’t make it to the July 3 session, the good news is that this isn’t the only time it will happen. Every first Thursday morning of the month, there will be a “Coffee with the City Manager” at the same place, 185 Miracle Strip Parkway SE.
So, whether you’ve been here for a long time or just moved here, make sure you mark your calendar and speak up over coffee.
