Okaloosa County School District seeks new bus drivers with paid training and hiring bonuses up to $2,400

Okaloosa County, Florida – The Okaloosa County School District is encouraging community members to come to its Bus Driver Job Fair on Saturday, November 15, to learn about a new career that might be very rewarding. The event will be held at Crestview High School, which is at 1250 North Ferdon Boulevard, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The district is looking for reliable and motivated individuals to join its transportation team. Bus drivers are especially important because they safely take students to and from school every day. The fair’s goal is to let people try driving a school bus and learn about the benefits and training that new drivers can get.

Participants will be able to test-drive a school bus with supervision, talk to Human Resources staff about how to apply on-site, and ask questions about how the hiring process works. District staff will also talk about paid training programs that can assist people get their Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

The district is giving attractive bonuses to get new employees to join. If you already have a valid CDL, you can get a $2,400 hiring bonus. If you don’t have a CDL yet, you can get a $2,000 incentive. Both incentives will be paid in increments following employment.

The Okaloosa County School District continues to attempt to hire skilled personnel to make sure that students can go to and from school safely.
