JetBlue to launch nonstop flights from Boston and New York to Destin–Fort Walton Beach in March 2026
Destin, Florida – JetBlue announced that new nonstop flights to Destin–Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS) will start on March 5, 2026, connecting the Northeast to Florida’s Emerald Coast. The airline plans to fly five weekly seasonal flights from both Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), marking another milestone in JetBlue’s rapid Florida development.
JetBlue’s service to Destin–Fort Walton Beach takes the airline to one of Florida’s most beautiful areas, noted for its silky white beaches and pure emerald waterways. The airline’s decision comes after it announced new flights to Vero Beach and Daytona Beach, bringing the total number of new Florida routes this year to more than 30. JetBlue is offering one-way prices starting at $49 for a short period to celebrate. These fares are only available on the airline’s website.
Dave Jehn, JetBlue’s vice president of network planning and airline partnerships, said that the new service shows how effectively JetBlue connects with travelers from Florida.
“Florida continues to be a place where JetBlue’s combination of great service and value resonates strongly with travelers,” he said. “By adding Destin–Fort Walton Beach to our map, we’re bringing more choices to customers in Boston and New York while opening the door for Emerald Coast residents to connect easily to the Northeast and beyond.”
Local officials welcomed the expansion. Okaloosa County Board Chairman Paul Mixon said the community is eager to see JetBlue thrive at VPS.
“We want to welcome JetBlue to Destin-Fort Walton Beach and all the passengers they will bring, both business and pleasure to experience the natural beauty of Northwest Florida,” Mixon said. “We look forward to seeing their success at VPS and appreciate all of the efforts it took to get them here.”
The new route links two of JetBlue’s most important destinations, Boston and New York, with one of Florida’s fastest-growing leisure markets. Travelers will be able to use JetBlue’s famous facilities, such as free high-speed Fly-Fi® internet, live TV on the seatback, free snacks and drinks, and friendly service on the plane.
Flights from Boston to Destin–Fort Walton Beach will leave at 12:40 p.m. and arrive at 3:00 p.m. Flights back to Boston will leave VPS at 3:55 p.m. and land there at 7:51 p.m. The flight from New York will leave JFK at 7:00 a.m. and arrive at 9:08 a.m. The flight back will leave VPS at 10:00 a.m. and arrive back in New York at 1:38 p.m.
JetBlue’s growth in Florida is part of its JetForward plan to make the East Coast’s best leisure network. The airline already services or aims to serve around 50 destinations from Florida, including Orlando, Tampa, Vero Beach, Daytona Beach, and Fort Lauderdale. JetBlue will also open a dedicated Mint® base for flight attendants at Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport by early 2026. This will demonstrate that the airline is committed to Florida for the long term and will help it stay a prominent carrier in the area.
