Historic Destin motel reimagined with coastal colors, modern amenities, and pet-friendly perks

Destin, Florida – Following major renovations that combine modern conveniences with its original roadside appeal, the beloved 20-room motel The Beachside Inn in Destin has recently unveiled its new design. Being a favorite family vacation spot for a long time, this pet-friendly business is located in the lovely Crystal Beach area, straight across from the Shore at Crystal Beach Park.

“We’re thrilled to be completing this renovation,” said co-owner Jeanne Dailey. “The team had a vision to update the rooms with modern, stylish accommodations for the discerning traveler looking for locally-owned, comfortable accommodations and friendly, professional service.”

This vision was realized through a transformation that maintained the motel’s nostalgic essence while infusing contemporary design and amenities.

With walls painted in Tradewind green and an accent wall in Schooner blue, thereby reflecting the calm waves, the Beachside Inn’s revised guest rooms now have a relaxing coastal color scheme. Celebrating the legacy of Crystal Beach and Destin Harbor as a small fishing community, these rooms feature old pictures of the area. Modern improvements increase guest comfort and convenience by including state-of-the-art appliances, kitchenettes with quartz counters, and big tile showers with corner benches.

“We think our guests are really going to appreciate the small details,” said Hind Alami, Innkeeper/Property Manager at the Beachside Inn. “The new bedding includes comfy medium-weight comforters with a blue throw if our guests get cold,” Alami added.

New bedding arrangements include medium-weight comforters and blue throws, and practical additions like hooks for wet towels and swimsuits, an oversized mini-fridge, and a handheld steamer for clothes.

From its 1973 opening, the Beachside Inn has changed dramatically. Originally a small one-story motor court, Tim Fulmer and his brother bought it in 1997 inspired by Miami’s boutiques. Rebuilding the motel entirely, they added a second story and contemporary conveniences including a rooftop pool and hot tub. Working with local chef Charles Morgan, the renovations also cleared the path for the opening of two on-site eateries, Camille’s Café and Camille’s Restaurant.

Today, the Beachside Inn experience revolves around these eateries. Popular for live music and alfresco dining, Camille’s Café serves a variety of coffee and beverages including fresh pressed juices and local beers. Upstairs, Camille’s Restaurant is celebrated for its fresh seafood and sushi, crafted by renowned Chef Yoshie Eddings.

The outside of the motel has been carefully planned to let visitors savor the surroundings. The two-tier rooftop pool and redesigned deck offer the ideal location for swimming and enjoying the breathtaking Destin sunsets. Underlining the Inn’s dedication to welcome all members of the family, the facility offers pet-friendly lodging and places including delicious dog treats created by students of Westonwood Ranch.

Beachside Inn provides custom lodging for a range of guests. Families like the easy beach access and leisurely pool area. Couples enjoy the intimacy of cozy King rooms. Convenience in in-room desks and fast WiFi appeals to business guests. The Inn also provides luxury vinyl floor-equipped special rooms for individuals who travel with dogs to accommodate their furry buddy.
