Destin prepares for 39th Holiday on the Harbor Lighted Boat Parade on December 14

Destin, Florida – The annual illuminated boat parade is coming back to the port on Sunday, December 14 at 6 p.m. This is one of the community’s most beloved Christmas traditions. This year is the 39th Holiday on the Harbor Lighted Boat Parade hosted by Destin History & Fishing Museum. Residents and visitors will gather to the waterfront to watch a glowing procession float over the lake at night. The parade continues to be free for everyone to watch, making it a simple and fun way to celebrate the holiday season.
According to the organizers, the parade will be visible all along the port, from the port Docks to the Emerald Grande. This year’s fun theme is “How the Grouper Stole Christmas,” and each boat will be decked with lights and other decorations that fit the theme. Participants can give the traditional story a nautical touch. People who want to join the lineup can still register a boat. The deadline is December 12, and the registration fee is $35.
The Edge Restaurant and Sky Bar will be the official place for judging, where entries will be looked at as they pass by. Awards should focus on creativity, skill, and how well the work is presented as a whole. After the parade, a sponsored fireworks spectacular will light up the night sky at HarborWalk, making the event even more festive.
In addition to the spectacle on the water, parade organizers have introduced official merchandise for this year’s event. The collection includes shirts, mugs, and other souvenirs with the winning design from the parade’s yearly logo contest. The money raised helps pay for the parade and lets people take home a piece of the tradition.
