Destin launches annual free parking pass program for residents with two passes per household

Destin, Florida – Starting January 3, 2025, Destin residents stand to gain from the city’s yearly free parking pass program. Limited to two passes per family, they will provide free access to numerous well-known parking lots in the Destin Harbor District, Crystal Beach, Gulf Shore Drive on Holiday Isle, and Scenic Highway 98.

Only those who live inside the incorporated borders of Destin have access to the passes. Residents must show a current driver’s license with a Destin address along with their vehicle registration and tag information at either the Destin City Hall or the Destin Community Center to get their passes.

The city has also set a grace period for January whereby citizens may use their 2024 passes until they can get the new ones for 2025. This transition period is meant to guarantee that during the switch no resident is left without a parking solution.

Apart from the basic parking licenses, Destin provides specific cards for different facilities. Henderson Beach State Park, for example, passes are available for $30 for general visitors and a discounted rate of $25 for senior citizens. These passes call for a current vehicle registration, proof of residence, and a current driver’s license.

With one decal provided per home, residents also can get a free Joe’s Bayou Boat Launch and Recovery Pass. These are meant for boat owners and call for current vessel and trailer registrations. Non-residents may buy these passes for $205; additional decals cost $50 apiece.
