Destin Community Center kicks off 2025 with fitness and activity classes for all ages
Destin, Florida – The Destin Community Center is starting the New Year with an interesting range of events meant to appeal to different interests and fitness degrees. From the quiet stretches of Chair Yoga to energetic dancing, the center has something to offer everyone seeking to enhance their January with new activities.
Chair Yoga will first be offered as a new session at the center beginning January 13, 2025. It is scheduled for Mondays and Thursdays from 10 to 11 a.m. Perfect for individuals looking for a lower-impact kind of exercise, this program lets participants perform yoga positions from the comfort of a chair. Every session costs $6; the class is open to every member of the community.
Pickleball enthusiasts will also get the chance to improve their abilities through focused courses covering January 8th, 15th, and 22nd from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. The courses will start again in February, giving plenty of opportunities to participants to play and advance. A set of three classes costs $15; the center supplies racquets and balls. Participants are just supposed to bring their gym shoes.
Line dancing classes appeal to anyone who enjoy rhythm and movement. Starting on January 9th, these sessions will follow a format suitable for all ability levels. Beginner lessons run from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m.; next is an open dance session until 1:45 p.m.; then are intermediate sessions until 2:30 p.m. Every session costs $6 and guarantees an interesting and involved approach of working out.
Starting January 6, 2025, the center will also include a Shape and Sculpt fitness program. Aimed at strengthening muscles, developing balance, and increasing core strength, these Monday and Wednesday classes from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. focus on light-weight workouts set to music. For those trying to tone and shape their bodies, the cost—$5 each class—makes this a reasonable choice.
