Fort Walton Beach prepares to launch Christmas Parade with festive Zoo Animals theme on December 1

Fort Walton Beach, Florida – Fort Walton Beach will be all about the holidays as the community gets ready for its annual Christmas Parade on Monday night. The celebration is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. on December 1, 2025. There will be people, costumes, and lots of holiday cheer in the streets.

The theme for this year’s event is “Zoo Animals,” which means that people can dress up as animals and adorn floats with fun, colorful decorations. The city has made one key point: leave genuine zoo animals at home. The concept fosters creativity. Pets can join in on the fun, but only if they are on a leash and being supervised.

The parade will start at the intersection of Eglin Parkway and First Street. From there, floats, marching groups, and people in costumes will go north along Eglin Parkway and terminate at Hughes Street. Families, visitors, and people who want to see the parade are encouraged to get to the sidewalks early to get a good view of the procession as it goes through the heart of Fort Walton Beach.

City officials have also said that cars will not be able to drive on Eglin Parkway before the start time. Drivers should expect delays, plan different routes, and give themselves more time to get around the region. People who want to acquire a front-row seat along the parade route should get there early.
