Fort Walton Beach police investigate road rage shooting with no reported injuries, suspect’s vehicle found later in Crestview

Fort Walton Beach, Florida – The Fort Walton Beach Police Department went to the scene of gunfire on Friday afternoon after a road rage incident between two vehicles turned into a shooting.

In a press release, officials said the event took at around 12:16 p.m. on October 31 in the neighborhood of Sullivan Street NW and West Audrey Drive NW. A driver called the police to report that someone in another car had shot at her car.

When the police got there, they talked to the victim, who said that the fight started as a road rage dispute and quickly turned violent. The investigators found that shots were fired from one car at another during the fight. Fortunately, no one was injured in the exchange.

Later, with help from the Okaloosa County Drug Task Force, police found the suspect’s car in Crestview. The vehicle was recovered with people inside, and police are still looking for further evidence about the shooting.

Authorities stated that there is no longer a threat to the public and stressed that the event seemed to be an isolated incident connected to the first fight between the drivers.
