Choctawhatchee and Fort Walton Beach High students praised for public service achievements

Fort Walton Beach, Florida – At the latest City Council meeting in Fort Walton Beach, several local high school students were recognized for their outstanding commitment to leadership and public service. The City’s Award for Civic Excellence (ACE), presented each month, shines a spotlight on high schoolers who have made a positive impact in government and their communities, whether on the school, local, state, or even national level.
During Tuesday evening’s meeting, Mayor Nic Allegretto took a moment to call up the honorees and their families, sharing words of encouragement and appreciation for their hard work. For the month of April, Shelby Welch of Choctawhatchee High School and Matthew Sinclair of Fort Walton Beach High School received the honor. In May, the recognition went to Cyrille Leazer from Choctawhatchee High and Ryan Fikes from Fort Walton Beach High.
Standing proudly alongside their families, the four students were congratulated not just by city officials but by everyone in attendance. The atmosphere in council chambers was celebratory, filled with applause and plenty of smiles as each recipient was introduced.
