Fort Walton Beach seeks sponsors for Juneteenth celebration at the Landing

Fort Walton Beach, Florida – Fort Walton Beach is preparing to bring the community together this summer for a Juneteenth Celebration built around remembrance, family fun and shared purpose — and city organizers are inviting local sponsors to help shape the day.

The City of Fort Walton Beach Recreation Department is seeking support for this year’s event, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Fort Walton Beach Landing. The outdoor celebration, titled “250 Years Later… Freedom In Motion,” is being planned as a gathering centered on unity, reflection and joy for residents of all ages.

Juneteenth marks an important moment in American history, and Fort Walton Beach’s celebration is designed to give the community space to honor that meaning while also enjoying a welcoming day at one of the city’s most familiar public gathering spots.

The Recreation Department is looking for sponsors willing to donate items that can help support the celebration and make it more engaging for attendees. Requested contributions include gift cards for prizes, swag bags, crayons and markers, and items for water play, including balloons and water guns.

Organizers are also hoping to connect with a vendor who can provide wet and dry slides, along with bouncy houses, to add more activity options for children and families during the event.

The city said the celebration is meant to be both meaningful and enjoyable, giving sponsors a chance to support a public event that highlights community connection while recognizing the deeper importance of Juneteenth.
