One fun night of food and games helps Okaloosa students thrive all year

Fort Walton Beach, Florida – The Okaloosa Public Schools Foundation is getting ready for its 5th Annual BBQ & Bingo, which will take place on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the HSU Educational Foundation, 70 Ready Ave NW, Building 5, in Fort Walton Beach. The doors open at 5:00 p.m. for a social hour, and then Bingo starts at 5:30 p.m. and goes until 8:00 p.m. The night will be full with comfort food, friendly competition, and a continual stream of awards, all of which are meant to raise money for programs that help students and teachers in Okaloosa County.

The main goal of the event is to raise money for a good cause. The money raised goes to the Foundation’s goal of making more educational opportunities available in the Okaloosa County School District. That work includes giving students scholarships, grants for classrooms, and hands-on learning programs that let schools try out new ideas and suit the needs of their communities. Every Bingo card played and every plate served helps such initiatives move forward.

You can buy tickets online at the Givebutter page of the Foundation. Organizers argue that the most important thing is community involvement: donations, attendance, and sponsorships all make a difference. Businesses in the area can pay for parts of the evening or sponsor gaming rounds, and others can give as much or as little as they can afford.

There will be both a silent auction and a live auction this year. The Foundation is taking things and experiences for both types of events. These can be gift cards, themed baskets, services, outings, or one-of-a-kind collectibles. We also welcome volunteers. Several committees need help, such as those in charge of food, drinks, setup, and cleanup, as well as sponsorships and registration. There is a job for everyone, whether they can contribute a few hours the week of the event or help out on the night of the event.

The schedule is meant to make it easy for people to join in. Before the numbers start to roll, the social hour is a good time to talk to your neighbors, teachers, and partners. When Bingo starts, guests can expect a quick pace of games and chances to win prizes until early evening. This makes it an excellent option for families on a school night.

Community members should call Debbie Tate at (850) 974-0742 for further information on tickets, sponsorships, donations, auction items, or volunteer opportunities. The Foundation wants people to reach out early to get seats and finish their donations.

BBQ & Bingo brings people together for a fun night while also making a difference. It’s a simple equation: come, have fun, and help pay for important student activities for the next year.
