Thrift Store Cowboys
Roosterball
Although it can seem like aspects of the local music scene are fluid, there are a few steadfast certainties that if ever changed might open a vast black hole. One is if Flagstar and the Dogs cease creating. Thrift Store Cowboys is a bit of a shift for the rockabilly-adjacent group into happier and more countryfied tunes, but each release has incorporated a distinct flavor into their sonic catalog. At its core, it’s still a mix of what the group has gained a following for—glimpses of personal stories, made-up adventures, and a critical eye on current temperatures. And all of it dressed up in Flagstar’s signature delivery.
