Marilou rescued Camille, a Bichon Frise, from what our Pet of the Issue remembers as “a very bad environment where I had been caged and abused. I had no blanket and very little food or water. I was very sad.”
Camille had lost her left eye and also had broken ribs, large bladder stones, urinary tract sepsis, and an enlarged heart. “I was dehydrated and starving,” Camille tells Beachcomber. “I was infested with fleas and had gum disease and rotten teeth.”
Today, Camille is cherished and loved. Her favorite place is her Momma’s lap, and she goes everywhere with her parents. “I wish every person would rescue and adopt a pet like me…there are so many sweet animals who are dying at the hands of cruel or irresponsible people.
“When you adopt a pet, your life will be enriched and blessed beyond measure.”
