Pet of the Issue – Roxy

Roxy—short for Roxanne—is a seven-and-a-half-year-old Catahoula mix. “I found her when she was four months old at the Walton County Animal Shelter in DeFuniak Springs,” Danni tells Beachcomber.


“I took my mom up there after our family dog passed away to see if she felt convicted to adopt again. Roxy had been surrendered to the shelter shortly before we got there, and when I saw her, she saw me, our eyes met, and she ran over to me and started climbing up my leg.


“I picked her up and she laid her head on my shoulder, and I just knew I had to bring her home.” Roxy loves the water and swimming. Her hobbies include paddleboarding (Team YOLO) and shredding books.


“She’s an amazing companion,” says Danni. “She loves with all of her heart, is a full time snuggler, and I am slowly transferring my book collection to audio…Submit your best friend for a future Pet of the Issue feature! Email
