Downtown FWB Plays the Street Life

Downtown Fort Walton Beach’s Street Fest is a night of fun for the whole family. The downtown spring series is the first Friday of each month starting in March and ending in May. Vendors, live music, food and more line the sidewalks.

The first Downtown FWB Street Fest took place March 2  and brought out a crowd of around 1,500. “Our downtown businesses were impressed by the turnout,” says Jennifer Bundrick, Director of Events for the Downtown Fort Walton Beach Organization, Inc. There were 48 vendors, including candle makers, artists, homemade dog treat creators and face painters.

One of the vendors, K9 Rescue Rations, is a veteran-owned and operated and business that creates organic dog treats. You can find them online at Independent Scentsy Director Shauna Davis was there, too, with popular fragrance wax bars and warmers. Her website is

Karma Candles owner Kim Hughes was there. She, along with three of her four daughters, creates soy candles. Their candles are 100 percent soy with a hemp wick coated with beeswax to give you the ultimate candle with a long-lasting burn, excellent scent throw, and very little smoke. They are lead free, dye free, and paraffin free. You can find them at

Naturalien Tee-Shirt owner Kevin Turner had a table for his new t-shirt line. Naturalien is about people doing positive things in their neighborhood and in everyday life. “Fly Your Flag” is the company motto. Discover more at

Neva Brodie was displaying her artwork, created mainly with acrylics and some mixed media, but always reflective of her life—full of color. Neva Brodie Art is meant to engage, enliven and appeal to all people. Find her on Facebook.

The Downtown FWB Street Fest also had music from the Beach Brass Band and E-C Disco Techs throughout the evening. There was a stilt walker traversing up and down the sidewalks and face painting for the kids. Downtown businesses and restaurants were open as well.

The next Street Fest takes place Friday, April 6, from 6 to 9 p.m. The events happen through May 4. Learn more at
