Destin-Fort Walton Beach-Crestview is the drunkest city (cities?) in Florida, according to USA Today. Okay, I’ve known that for years.
In certain states, a man that successfully prosecuted KKK members responsible for a church bombing can run for the Senate against a gun-toting, Constitution-hating accused pedophile…and it’s still a pretty close race. (Beachcomber went to press before the election results were announced, but I’m hoping good sense prevailed.)

This is still the greatest place in the world to live, work and play, in spite of (or maybe because of) drunken possums. By the way, our interview with the drunken possum will appear in the next issue of Beachcomber.

The nominating ballot for Beachcomber Music Awards X is online now, and you can vote through the end of January 2018. The final nominees in each category will be announced in February, and our big event is set for Monday, March 5, location to be announced.

Very sorry to hear about the closing of The Black Pearl on Okaloosa Island’s Boardwalk. We had lots of great times there and wish Chef Kevin and the staff well in their future adventures.
