Children’s Advocacy Center Seeks Back to School Supplies

It’s back to school time, and the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center (ECCAC) in Niceville and DeFuniak Springs wants to make sure kids are ready.

Both centers are collecting back to school supplies for the abused and neglected children receiving services by the organization. Over 600 children per year receive these services at no cost to their families.

Item being collected are backpacks, loose‑leaf paper, pencils, pens, crayons, scissors, glue sticks, highlighters, folders, rulers, and notebooks (spiral and three‑ring). The items can be dropped off at either Center by Aug. 18. For more information, or to arrange pickup of larger donations, contact Chelsea at Chelsea@eccac.org or call 850‑833‑9237, ext. 256.

ECCAC’s mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect, protect children in Okaloosa and Walton counties, and restore the lives and futures of these impacted children. Both centers house a multidisciplinary team of child protection personnel, prosecutors, law enforcement, DCF, therapists, staff and volunteers. Services are provided at no cost by the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

For further information, including volunteer and donation opportunities, visit www.eccac.org or call 850‑833‑9237, ext. 283. If abuse is suspected, call the anonymous Florida Abuse Hotline at 1‑800‑96‑ABUSE.
