Artists Bring Tropical Vibes to Destin Commons

Published on

The “Tropical Vibes” mural by Keith Jette and Andrew Wargo can be seen on the sidewall of Build-a-Bear at Destin Commons.

Local artists Andrew Wargo and Keith Jette recently completed their original street mural art at Destin Commons on the sidewall of Build-a-Bear. This is the third mural in a series of seven murals that will line various walls at the outdoor lifestyle center.

Wargo and Jette’s “Tropical Vibes” is a vibrantly colored depiction of large flamingo birds wading in water. The artists employed a mix of airbrush and traditional brush painting. “I like to use a lot of color and expression when I paint my abstracts,” says Wargo.

Wargo is a primarily self-taught artist, originally from Orlando and now based in Fort Walton Beach. He began his artistic endeavors at a young age and later supplemented his journey with formal art classes. Drawing upon inspiration from his surroundings, Wargo seeks to immerse himself in the local art community. Discover more at AndrewWargoArt.com.

Jette is the owner of Wicked Paint in Fort Walton Beach, a paint shop for motorcycles and hot rods. His unique custom artwork ranges from automotive to canvas and tattoo work. Last year, Jette was featured on the TV show Skin Wars—the producers reached out to him when they saw his artwork on Instagram. Find out more about Jette at facebook.com/Wickedpaintfwb.

The Destin Commons murals have been well received and make perfect photo backdrops for locals and visitors.
