Cwazy Wabbit Joins Sinfonia Gulf Coast for One Looney Night

This spring Sinfonia Gulf Coast is more animated than usual. On Saturday, March 25, Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II celebrates classic Looney Tunes cartoons projected on the big screen, while Sinfonia Gulf Coast performs the exhilarating, original Carl Stalling scores live.

The concert will be performed at 7 p.m. at the Emerald Coast Convention Center, located on Okaloosa Island.

Keeping the tempo on the Emerald Coast’s cultural scene since its founding in 2005, Sinfonia Gulf Coast maintains the tradition of “symphony redefined” as the region’s only fully professional symphony orchestra.

“We are thrilled Bugs Bunny could hop into our 11th annual season line up,” says Sinfonia Gulf Coast founder and music director Demetrius Fuller. “The response has been great, and we look forward to seeing music lovers of all ages at the symphony.”

Animation music master Carl Stalling’s soundscapes take audiences on a rollercoaster ride of rhythm, melody and harmony, inspired by the great works of Wagner, Rossini, Johann Strauss, von Suppe, Smetana and other great composers.

Conducted by George Daugherty and created by Daugherty and David Ka Lik Wong, Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II spotlights such iconic classics as “What’s Opera, Doc?,” “The Rabbit of Seville,” “Rhapsody Rabbit,” “Long‑Haired Hare,” “Show Biz Bugs,” “Baton Bunny” and others, plus two brand‑new, critically‑acclaimed 3D cartoons from Warner Bros.—“Rabid Rider” and “Coyote Falls.”  And capping it all off are special guest appearances in “Tom & Jerry in the Hollywood Bowl.”

Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II is the latest incarnation of a concert project that has been receiving standing ovations and rave reviews around the world for the past 25 years, starting with Bugs Bunny on Broadway (1990) and Bugs Bunny at the Symphony (2010). The three concerts have played to more than 2.5 million cheering audience members worldwide.

Tickets are $45 for preferred (floor) seating and $29.50 for balcony. Students (up to age 18) are $25.
