3.8.13 - FREE Lecture at Val-P's Heritage Museum

“Mosquitoes, Muggles, and Museums: Exploring Florida’s Archaeology with Geocaching” is a FREE Lunchtime Lecture at the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida in Valparaiso this Friday, March 8, at noon.

Geocaching is a worldwide scavenger hunt game taking players across the globe in search of hidden containers called caches by using their GPS devices. The Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN) recently created a series of geocaches hidden at historic and archaeological sites across Northwest Florida.

Mike Thomin, historian with FPAN will explain how geocaching works and what you need to play.  So grab your GPS and get ready to explore Northwest Florida history and archaeology and go geocaching. Bring a sandwich and take your lunch break at the museum for an informal lunchtime education program. Space is limited - call (850) 678-2615 to reserve a spot.
