These Are the Days of the Week

Hope you’re up for a little change, because we’re about to stir things up in the what days are for what department.

#MusicMonday and #MotivationMonday are history. We’re going back to just calling it Monday. Mondays aren’t special. Mondays are a drag. If you must, call it “Monday Monday” like that great song by the Mamas and the Papas—only that’s music, so no.

#TacoTuesday will continue, but only if you eat your tacos without lettuce. Nobody, I mean nobody, likes lettuce on tacos. #TuesdayThoughts is abolished immediately, unless you’re thinking about tacos.

#WellnessWednesday? Forget it. It’s too late for most of us.

#ThrowbackThursday will remain, but you can only share photos that are at least 50 years old. You probably deleted most of those from your smartphone.

We’re keeping #FollowFriday, but Twitter tags are limited solely to @BeachcomberFL, @HarborDocks, and, inexplicably, @TheRealFunyuns.

As for #SaturdaySwag, I’ve always had a problem with that clumsy (well, nonexistent) alliteration. Let’s change it to #SaturdaySag and see what kind of horrifying images people share.

Finally, the demise of #SundayFunday has been a long time coming. If you’re out having fun on Sunday while I’m cleaning the garage and giving the dogs pedicures, I don’t want to know about it.

Thanks for the article, Charles (“Boat Building Visionary: Nothing Average About Steve Sauer” by Charles Morgan III, May 31-June 13 Beachcomber). A nice tribute to a unique and talented friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
