Arts and Design Society’s “Shiver Me Timbers!” Co-sponsored by the Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce and open to all artists. Works can be in any medium and should reflect a pirate theme in honor of the upcoming 60th anniversary of the Billy Bowlegs Festival. Cash awards. Okaloosa Arts Alliance (OAA) invites all Okaloosa County school students to participate in The 6th Annual OAA Okaloosa County School Poster Contest. This year’s theme is “Summer Fun,” and entries can be created on paper with markers, pencils, paint, pastels, charcoal or crayons. First, second and third place winners for three elementary school students (K-4), three middle school students (5-7), and three high school students (8-12) in Okaloosa County will win gift cards. All poster contest entries will be on display at the Arts & Design Society in Fort Walton Beach April 21-May 1 with a reception announcing the winners April 24.

Any Okaloosa County school student can enter. Deadline for submissions is April 20. Please submit only one entry per student. Posters should be standard size (8 1/2 by 11) for the contest and should include artists’ name, grade and school.  Drop off all entries at the Arts & Design Society Art Center Gallery.
