Janiva Magness
Tuesday, July 24; 6 p.m.
Paradise Bar & Grill Inn, Pensacola Beach
We usually don’t feature Pensacola Beach here, but Magness is so good we recommend making the trek. The Alligator Records recording artist’s latest release, Stronger for It, is one of our favorite blues/soul efforts of 2012. Magness was nominated for four 2011 Blues Music Awards, including B.B. King Entertainer of the Year. In addition to her musical accomplishments, Magness is a spokesperson for Casey Family Programs National Foster Care Month Campaign and an ambassador for Foster Care Alumni of America. The show is FREE…like you could put a price on exhilarating, soul-healing music!
Tim Brantley
Wednesday, July 25; 7 p.m.
Seaside Amphitheater
Atlanta native Brantley spent the last four years touring with Will Hoge, Tyrone Wells, the Fray, Josh Kelley, Darius Rucker and many others. He performed on “The Rock Boat” in 2011 and 2012 along with NEEDTOBREATHE, Sister Hazel, and many more. His 2009 album Goldtop Heights was released to great acclaim—Performing Songwriter gushed: “One of the Best Albums of 2009 is here.” Brantley’s songs have been featured on NBC’s Chuck, MTV’s The Hills, and Bruce Springsteen’s YouTube channel. He is currently wrapping up the follow-up to Goldtop Heights—Moonlighter is set for a late summer release. The concert is FREE thanks in large part to the folks at Barefoot BBQ.

Daphne Willis
Wednesday, Aug. 1; 7-9 p.m.
Village of Baytowne Wharf, Sandestin
Willis has appeared at the 30A Songwriters Festival and headlined last summer’s Share the Shelter event for Alaqua Animal Refuge and Shelter House of Northwest Florida. Needless to say, this Chicago gal has developed a significant local following…but we’re saying it anyway. She’s a marvelously expressive musician with a bracingly seductive sound. FREE!
