Stage Crafters’ Latest Celebrates Friendship, Swimming

Stage Crafters Community Theatre of Fort Walton Beach announces the opening of The Dixie Swim Club by Jesse Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten.

Directed by Nunzio Cappadona, the five-woman show tells the story of school friends from a college swim team who meet every year for a weekly vacation together at a beach house. The play captures the ups and downs of their still subtly enmeshed lives over the course of several of those rendezvous.

Five Southern women who were on their college swim team many years ago set aside a long weekend every August at a beach cottage on the North Carolina Outer Banks to recharge their relationships. Their lives

have taken different paths. The Dixie Swim Club focuses on four such weekends spread out over the years. The results are lots of laughs and some poignant moments as these unforgettable women share revelry and the occasional clashes.

The Dixie Swim Club runs June 8, 9 and 10 and again June 15-17 at the Fort Walton Beach Civic Auditorium at 107 Miracle Strip Parkway. Friday and Saturday night shows start at 7:30 p.m. Sunday matinees begin at 2.

Tickets are $15 and are available at P.S. Gifts in Fort Walton Beach and Bayou Books in Niceville. For more info, call (850) 243-1101 or visit www.StageCrafters.com.
