Upon stopping the vehicle for a traffic violation, deputies discovered an alarming amount of drugs inside. The haul included 69 grams of cocaine, over 500 grams of fentanyl, and more than 160 grams of methamphetamine. Additionally, marijuana, Xanax, and various drug paraphernalia, including a blender used for drug preparation, were found in the car.

The driver, identified as Cassy Callahan, was already wanted on an active warrant for larceny and fraud. Her charges have now expanded to include trafficking fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The passenger, Whitney Bailey, was also arrested under a warrant for possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. Her involvement in the case adds to the severity of the operation, highlighting the widespread issue of drug trafficking in the community.

This bust underscores the ongoing efforts of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) to combat drug trafficking and distribution within the county. The substantial quantities of fentanyl, a powerful opioid that has been linked to numerous overdose deaths nationwide, indicate the potential danger averted by the deputies’ timely intervention.
