The inaugural Destin Crafted event was held at The Henderson Beach Resort Saturday, November 3, 2018. This craft beer, bourbon, and food festival was organized by Wine World to raise funds for Children in Crisis Inc., a local nonprofit whose mission is to support and house children in need in Northwest Florida.
This month, Wine World donated festival proceeds to the charity in the amount of $13,410.
“Our goal in partnering with The Henderson was to host an event unlike any other in the area,” said Wine World honcho Chan Cox. “Wine World’s event expertise, coupled with a gorgeous venue, was the key, and the results were even more than we imagined. We are thrilled that our community and sponsors joined us at this fabulous resort to make this donation to the charity possible.”
Nearly 500 guests, both locals and visitors, attended Destin Crafted, with events spanning from the VIP cocktail party on the sunset terrace Friday night to Saturday’s main festival on The Henderson’s pool deck. Celebrity distillers and brewers joined local restaurants and community sponsors to provide a unique experience to festivalgoers and enthusiasts.
“The event raised the bar high—it was the best one ever! I can’t thank everyone enough,” said CIC president and CEO Ken Hair. “This supports our Children’s Neighborhood and improves the lives of the at-risk kids we take care of.”
This year’s Destin Crafted main event is set for Saturday, Nov. 9, at The Henderson. Plans are underway to add new food and beverages for guests, as well as possibly expanding the event and adding extra activities. All proceeds will again benefit Children in Crisis, Inc.
