Ruth’s Chris Steak House at Silver Shells Resort in Destin invites the community, loyal patrons and guests to a fundraiser for server Jimma Grimm Tuesday, June 19, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at their Courtyard Bar.
Ms. Grimm moved to the area in 1989 and has been in the service industry ever since. She is part of the original team at Ruth’s Chris since they opened their doors in 2006 and has been an integral team member ever since.
Ms. Grimm was recently diagnosed with Stage Two Breast Cancer and has undergone surgery and radiation treatment in order to combat the notoriously reoccurring disease. Her fight began on March 16, 2018, yet she has a long road of follow‑up appointments and expensive prescription medications ahead of her.
One hundred percent of the money donated will be used to pay for her medical expenses as well as assisting with daily living expenses.
“Jimma is far more than a server here at Ruth’s Chris,” says General Manager Mike Sable. “She is an essential part of the Ruth’s Chris family and is known and adored by everyone. The event is being held in response to an incredible outpouring of patron and staff requests, which is a true testament to how deserving Jimma really is.”
The Jimma Grimm fundraiser is free to attend and open to the public. Guests are invited to stop by and meet Ms. Grimm and enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, live music by Michael J Thomas, and a live auction by Luxury Estates Auction Company.
Donations will be accepted throughout the night as well. For those who cannot attend, a GoFundMe account has been created and donations can be made at gofundme.com/WeFightForJimma. Donations may also be dropped off at Ruth’s Chris, located at 15000 Emerald Coast Parkway in Destin.
Area businesses interested in donating silent auction items can contact Caroline Boone at 850‑460‑7777 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
