Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney’s The Little Mermaid is a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages. With music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater, and a compelling book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs, including “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl” and “Part of Your World.”
The cast consists of two major female roles and six major male roles. The show will have a large ensemble cast which plays an important part in The Little Mermaid, as many of the actors double in roles. Ages for both male and female range are 18 and up. Prepared audition materials are not necessary, as Stage Crafters will be auditioning from the script.
Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes. There will be vocal, dance and acting auditions. Stage Crafters encourages you to attend both nights of auditions, May 17 and 18. Check-in at 6:30 p.m. Auditions begin at 7 p.m. at Stage Crafters Rehearsal Hall, located at 40 Robinwood Drive in Fort Walton Beach.
Disney’s The Little Mermaid, directed by Jean Starkey, will be staged at the Fort Walton Beach Civic Auditorium Aug. 3-5 and 10-12.
