Every generation deserves its own great high school movie, but that shouldn’t stop everyone else from enjoying Greg Berlanti’s LOVE, SIMON, currently in theaters. Funny and sweet, with more than a few shades of John Hughes’ cinematic legacy. I saw it at a nearly empty matinee screening, except for a quartet of youngsters a few rows behind me who talked during whole movie. Oddly, the non-stop commentary made the experience even more satisfying.
