The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation and co-presenters Destin Assembly of God, Destin United Methodist, St. Peter Catholic Church and Village Baptist Church present The 22nd Annual Sounds of the Season Friday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m. at Village Baptist Church, located at 101 Matthew Boulevard in Destin.

This year’s concert features guest artist Sarah Simmons Langston and her husband-accompanist Greg.

In 2013, Ms. Langston wowed her way onto the NBC’s The Voice, resulting in all four judges’ chairs turning and her advancement to the Final Eight. Ms. Langston majored in voice and worship leadership at the University of Mobile before transferring to the Memphis-based Visible Music College where she met her husband. She and Greg write, record and tour together.

“We are so excited to be a part of the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation’s Sounds of the Season, bringing some Christmas favorites that we all know,” Ms. Langston says.

The Mattie Kelly Community Chorus represents a diverse group of men and women from several local churches and residents in our community. The chorus is open to all members of the community, including area church choir members and winter residents.

Admission is a donation of a new unwrapped child’s toy to be distributed among the participating churches’ outreach ministries to provide a brighter Christmas for families in need during the holidays. A love offering at intermission will benefit the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation’s community outreach initiatives benefiting students, adults and children with special needs, at-risk youth and wounded warriors with visible and invisible injuries in Okaloosa and Walton counties.
