Okaloosa Island Beach Luau Parties Benefit Wounded Warriors

Published on

Members of the Al’s Beach Club team—manager Alex Cook, marketing and events coordinator Jordan Hicks, and marketing director Misty Ruthrauff—with Emerald Coast Wounded Warriors founder Ken Gestring.

Al’s Beach Club and Burger Bar on Okaloosa Island hosted its first Beach Luau Party series in August, September and October.

In addition to the Polynesian pig roasts and fire dancers, Al’s partnered with Emerald Coast Wounded Warriors to help support their cause to bring local war veterans together and educate the public.

On November 3, a portion of the event proceeds was donated to Emerald Coast Wounded Warriors in the amount of $1,000, with thanks for their continued support of the troops.

Emerald Coast Wounded Warriors’ goal is to bring local warriors together on the Emerald Coast and to assist with providing forward momentum to healing those warriors. They are not associated with Wounded Warrior Mission but, likewise, seek to educate the public about non-visible wounds such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
