“We are super excited about our new location,” says Juan Francisco Adaro on his recent move from Grayton Beach to Watersound. “The Shops at the Hub have a nice clean contemporary vibe that matches our aesthetic nicely.”
Adaro and his family were also drawn to the uniqueness and vision of the other shops. “It helps that the owners of the center are really nice and genuinely care about the success of everyone,” he says. “They are always thinking up new ways to have events. For Presidents Day, they had a band and a glass blowing demonstration for the public.”
The move took about a week. “It was us, the contractors and the baby all working to get everything together. We’d be painting a ceiling, and Oliverio would be sitting in his little rocker, staring at us like we’re crazy.”
Adaro Art has expanded its jewelry and ceramic section, and plenty work from new artists is on order. “It’s really just been a whirlwind,” says Adaro. “Oliverio goes to work with Brooke and is really good despite the occasional meltdown.”
Salvador, Adaro’s dog and the gallery’s unofficial mascot, continues to steal the show. “Everybody just loves him,” says Adaro. “He’s enjoying having more walks and belly rubs.”
The award-winning artist is featured on this issue’s cover and makes a rare Fort Walton Beach appearance at the Arts and Design Society March 22 (more in Art Events). Visit adaroart.com to learn more.
