Harbor Docks’ 22nd Annual Take A Kid Fishing Day went off without a hitch. Over 300 children and chaperones caught fish aboard 36 local charter boats, enjoyed donuts from Destin’s Donut Hole restaurant, a fish fry lunch cooked by Big Red Truck, and ice cream from Rainbow Frost Ice Cream Truck.
Everyone took home a t-shirt and rod and reel. Everything from king mackerel, bonito, vermillion snapper, porgy, flounder and more was brought to the dock.
Special thanks to the participating charter boats and their crews, as well as the numerous volunteers that allowed us to introduce many children to a day of fishing that otherwise would not have been possible. It was a wonderful day for everyone involved, and Destin, Florida, the world’s greatest fishing village.
